“RANJISH”: A Relation Complicated

“RANJISH”: A Relation Complicated

Most daunting for me,
Surviving my relation,
My relationship with you,
Most daunting for you,
Surviving this relation,
The relationship with me,
Listen to my song,
Come and come to me,
Oh, come! To desert me again,
Matters not,
How hard, the piercing of separation,
Come back once,
To leave me again.(I)

How many times,
I could make explains!
How many times,
I could keep it secret!!
The secret behind the distance,
The distance of our separation,
For the sake of the crazy world,
To ward off its all suspicion,
Oh, come!  To desert me again,
Come back once,
To leave me again.(II)

The love which is gone,
Hiding this love, not a sin,
Hiding it, is another way of love,
For sake of this love-failed,
You could come to me, once,
To give me some solace,
Our relationship, unlike before,
Me, the same no more,
You, not the same ever,
Oh, come! To desert me again,
Come back once,
 To leave me again.(IV)

You can't make excuses,
Excuses of not coming to me,
Come and come to me,
At this dusky moments of my life,
Together my love, together,
To share a little,
Oh, come! To desert me again,
Come back once,
To leave me again…(V)

My note:  This is a soft and sad ghazal (Ranjish Hi Sahi) written by AHMED FARAZ and originally instrumented by  USTAD MEHDI HASSAN with the combination of modern & old instruments with the Golden Voice of ASHA BHONSLE from her Album: ASHA recreated by PANDIT SOMESH MATHUR . This Urdu version prompted me to translate it to English…
